Diclofenac sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal and other inflammatory conditions.
It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing the production of prostaglandins that contribute to pain, inflammation, and fever.
Diclofenac sodium should be used only as directed by a healthcare professional. NSAIDs can increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, cardiovascular events, kidney problems, and other adverse effects, particularly with prolonged use or higher doses.
