Accutane is used in the treatment of severe acne and nodular acne that has not responded to other treatments such as antibiotics or topical medications. The active ingredient Isotretinoin belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids and works by reducing oil (sebum) production in the skin.
Accutane helps reduce acne-causing bacteria, inflammation, redness, and swelling associated with severe acne. By controlling excess oil production, it helps improve skin texture and reduce future breakouts.
In most cases, Accutane is taken once or twice daily after meals as directed by a healthcare professional. Treatment duration may vary depending on individual response.
